April 25, 2012

Greetings!

May you and yours be well. Here in Washington, D.C. we are moving into spring, and the air is fresh with renewal.

This posting includes a one page reprint on Catholic Social Thought and Distributive Justice from the Jesuit Social Research Institute in New Orleans. It makes a great bulletin insert or discussion starter for issues relating to the election. We also have a backgrounder on the April 26 anniversary of the murder of Bishop Juan Gerardi Conedera of Guatemala, a film discussion guide of Margin Call, and a piece to commemorate Vesak, or Buddha's day, on May 10.

If you are not already a member please join us now! If you have let your membership lapse please take a few minutes to renew now!  (Please consider making a donation above membership fees so we can keep our rates low).

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Margin Call

Film Discussion Guide
Margin Call is set in 2008, as the real estate market begins to fall apart. This discussion guide for the film considers key themes, such as the idolatry of money, and connections to Catholic Social Teaching, including the dignity of work and the role of government.
