December 23, 2011

Greetings!

May this e-mail find you filled with joyful anticipation!

This Christmas please consider making a donation to Education for Justice beyond your membership fees. It has been over five years since we have raised our membership rates. Please donate today to help us keep keep our membership rates low in 2012. Your gift both supports our work and honors the 40th anniversary of our parent organization, the Center of Concern.

In this newsletter you find a lovely reflection on the Parable of the Talents to inspire your Holiday Season. During the first week of January, be sure to watch your inbox for our next posting of material, including a prayer service and background piece for migration week plus a fact sheet on social security, and a brief insert on biblical themes in Economic Justice for All for Poverty Awareness Month.

If you are not already a member please join us now! Not sure if you are current or need to renew? Renew here!  (Both links  allow you to make a donation above membership fees). Thank you for your ongoing support.

Have a Very, Merry Christmas,

Kerry

To Those Who Have, More Will be Given

Compassion Should Not Be Buried

Guest writer Rev. Susan Daughtry reflects on the Parable of the Talents, suggesting that those who have love and compassion are called to risk losing it by giving more.

Sunday Lectionary Reflections

Readings, Reflections, Connections and Prayer

The Lectionary Reflections by Fr. John Bucki, S.J.,  provide an excellent resource for personal or communal reflection on the Word as well as ideas for homily preparation.  Each reflection includes a list of the readings, quotes for reflection, connections to Catholic Social Teaching, Prayers of the Faithful/Petitions, links for action and more.
