Hello! I am delighted to have joined the Center of Concern as Director of the Education for Justice program. I look forward to getting to know you and your needs and to continuing to bring you innovative resources. This fall be on the look out for: - A short video of Jim Hug, S.J. and Maria Riley, O.P. reflecting on the 40th Anniversary of the World Synod of Bishops' Justice in the World;
- A series in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Economic Justice For All; and
- An opportunity to participate in a survey through which I can learn how to better serve you (and you have an chance to win a free year's membership!)

Bishop Says Law a Threat to Free Exercise of Religion
Alabama has passed a law that would make it a crime to knowingly assist an illegal immigrant by providing them a ride, a job, a place to live or any other kind of social assistance, including religious education. While a federal judge has temporarily blocked the law, EFJ shares an open letter from Archbishop Rodi of Mobile Alabama which outlines his concern that the law fundamentally threatens Christians' ability to respond to Jesus's call of compassion.
