Greetings!

The resources posted this last weekend are a rich testimony to the presence of Catholic social thought incarnate all around us.  They are directly helpful in sorting out the events in the news right now.

 

To keep you posted: our search for a new Director for Education for Justice is coming down to decision time and we have some really gifted and wonderful candidates to choose from!  We hope to have an announcement for you soon.

In anticipation of Speaker of the House John Boehner's commencement address to the Catholic University of America's graduates in the spring of 2011, Catholic leaders wrote an open letter to the Speaker reminding him of the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. "The King's Speech" explores the story of Prince Albert (Great Britain's King George VI) and the demands, in terms of cost, courage and responsibility, that come with the title. The narrative of Albert's suffering on the road to greatness and his transcendence - passing beyond the condition that had crippled him - provide us with the film plot, a story of courage and liberation from an oppressive impediment.
