Dear ,

We have been watching with unending interest the contrasts between the citizen protest
s in Egypt with their nonviolent results and the current dynamics playing out in Libya.  The brutality of the government of Libya against its own people not only shocks and horrifies but highlights the dangers where freedom is denied with force.  Such contrasts can provide new insight into the freedoms we often take for granted in a democracy.

As we approach the season of Lent, we can appreciate too, the role of contrasts between freedom and oppression, light and darkness, sin and grace, fear and love.  We have prepared a daily Lenten reflection calendar to explore anew the call to be a reconciling people and a reconciling presence in the world today.  We invite your feedback.

We have a new lineup of resources to support your ministry of faith and justice.  Please see our list at the left.

Peace

A Prayer for Ash Wednesday
Cross March 9th is Ash Wednesday
This beautiful prayer reminds us of the journey we are about to undertake and attunes our hearts to the love of God.
"May Lent be for us
A time of learning to see
Where Christ is crucified today,
A time of learning
To recognize the complex roots of injustice..."
