Dear ,
We remember in our prayers the people of Pakistan, who continue to suffer the ravages of massive flooding. Please see the prayer below for the people of Pakistan.
During the fall of 2010, Education for Justice is offering a Seminar
Series on A Theology of Power, written by Bob Stewart. We invite our
members to reflect on each section of this series; questions are
included to help with the reflective process for use individually or
with a study group. Part One is offered below. This seminar series will continue through the fall with a new section in each posting.
We have a great lineup of new resources to support your ministry of faith and justice. See our list at the left.
Peace,
Sr. Katherine Feely, SND The Education for Justice Team

A Prayer Reflection for Mine Workers
|
| 33 Miners Trapped AliveThirty-Three mine workers in Chile are currently trapped alive 2,200 feet underground. It could be more than a month before they are rescued. Recent tragedies in the U.S. and elsewhere have highlighted the danger of mining. Education for Justice has prepared a prayer and reflection resource to pray, especially this labor day, for all those who work in the mining or extractive industries and to pray especially for the families affected by this recent tragedy. A Labor Day Reflection - New!
|
| Catholic Social Teaching & Workers This two-page resource provides a look at the intersection of labor, solidarity and social justice through the life and work of Walter Reuther. This Labor Day piece looks at Catholic social teaching in support of workers and articulates how labor day is essentially about solidarity-our responsibility for one another--and social justice. These values are not peripheral to our faith but at its very core. Go to resource |
A Theology of Power - Part One
|
| A New Seminar Series This series offers a theology that moves beyond a dualism of good versus evil. In a broken world, it is the Incarnation of God in the person of Jesus that is "a rescue and redemption operation, a mission to set things right."
The series explores the dynamics and uses of power from a variety of perspectives. An exploration of biblical justice is presented in the series in this context of "rescue and redemption." Part One looks at some images and definitions of power. Reflection questions are included for personal or group use.
