On the Brink of Summer
| June 3, 2010 | |
Dear ,
The news these days has been rather grim. We watch the violence escalate in the Middle East, the tensions rise between North and South Korea, the loss of life in Afghanistan and Iraq and of course the Gulf Oil spill's unabated destruction. We pray for each of these situations.
In reading the signs of the times, however we are also called to be people of action, not spectators. May we listen to the Spirit calling forth a response from each of us to be witnesses, peace-builders, hope-bringers, advocates and companions. May we seek new possibilities in the face of great obstacles with courage.
We have a series of new resources for you assist you in each of these calls. Please see the list of new resources to the left.
Also, as we look towards the summer, please let us know how we can support your ministry with new resource ideas and suggestions. Email us at efj@coc.org.

Child labor includes the use of children in slavery, forced labor, trafficking, debt bondage, serfdom, prostitution, pornography, forced or compulsory recruitment for armed conflict, as well as work that is harmful to their health or safety.Work is being done around the globe to address poverty and end child labor.
