With the recent sobering news of 30,000 additional U.S. troops being deployed to Afghanistan, we continue the Advent journey praying for peace and an end to war.
In addition to the resources featured below, there are many additional resources to explore on the web site. New resources are posted on the home page in between newsletters. Check often for new resources.

During this second week of Advent, we reflect on forgiveness between individuals. We all are wounded by others in some way, from small hurts to terrible crimes, and the work of forgiveness must become a part of our daily life, especially as we prepare for the Prince of Peace to be born again in our hearts.

Merton's thoughts on education, as they are explicitly recorded, are provocative, but brief and general. He summarized in a letter that education "means the formation of the whole person"; he designated its purpose as "self-discovery," a major theme in his essay "Learning To Live".
