Advent Reflection 2009 Week One:

Week One Make room for peace in our hearts
During this first week of Advent,  the wisdom of the Psalms, the life of Dorothy Day and the poetry of Antonio Machado can help us focus on the first step of our Advent journey-creating reconciliation and peace within our own souls by forgiving ourselves and being open to God's love.
Advent Reflection 2009 Week Two:
Week Two Make room for peace with each other
During this second week of Advent, we reflect on forgiveness between individuals. We all are wounded by others in some way, from small hurts to terrible crimes, and the work of forgiveness must become a part of our daily life, especially as we prepare for the Prince of Peace to be born again in our hearts.

Advent Reflection 2009 Week Three:
Week Three Make Room for Peace Between Groups
During this third week of Advent, we are invited to reflect on individuals who have been able to move from anger at groups or communities whose violence has touched their lives.  To move from fear, anger and even hate to a celebration of reconciliation can be possible when we recognize the healing power of God in our midst.

Advent Reflection 2009 Week Four:
Week Four Make Room for Peace on Earth
During this last week of Advent, we reflect on the situation in the Holy Land, and the necessity of groups to forgive, reconcile and work with other groups to ensure bloodshed ends and peace is possible.  Christ's birthplace continues to need the witness of peacemaking.
