Entering the Desert, Encountering Temptation
This Week's Lenten readings invite us to reflect on Jesus, the new and everlasting Covenant, who faces and overcomes temptation in the desert. Jesus exemplifies the way to face the demons and wild beasts that lead us away from God and one another. Jesus is drawn into the desert by the Spirit and while facing the demons that know him well, still allows the angels to minister to him. We enter our own spiritual deserts and strive to quiet all voices save God's speaking to us.

Prayer to Abolish the Death Penalty
|
|
The Consistent Ethic of Life
All life is sacred. Taking life through capital punishment is not a valid way to protect life. The Church consistently advocates for life sentences for crimes that threaten human life, but denounces the death penalty. Use this prayer to pray for the work still needed to abolish the death penalty.
