Hurricanes and Haiti: A Tragic History
Hurricane image
Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere.  In 2008 alone, three hurricanes have hit Haiti and the toll has been devastating.  This two-page resource highlights how poverty in Haiti has made the impact of these hurricanes worse and what can be done to respond both in the short run and the long run.

Reflections and Litany for an End to Conflicts
Candles of prayer September 21 is the International Day of Peace
This litany focuses prayer on those troubled places around the world where conflict and war persist.  Pray for an end to all conflict and reflect on the needs of those most affected.

One Border The Eucharist & Immigration
The new film, "One Border, One Body" tells the story of a ritual that unites people beyond political constructions which divide them.

This 30-minute film speaks of the gift and challenge of Christian faith and the call to feed the world's hunger for peace, justice and reconciliation. More than just another documentary on immigration, this film is a meditation on the Kingdom of God, the globalization of solidarity and a journey of hope.

UN Habitat Day October 6
The United Nations has designated the first Monday in October each year as World Habitat Day. The idea is to reflect on the state of our towns and cities and the basic right to adequate shelter for all. It is also intended to remind the world of its collective responsibility for the future of the human habitat.
