FRIENDS OF NEPAL AND BRANCBURG ROTARY CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF HUMANITARIAN SERVICE IN NEPAL

Branchburg Rotary club and Friends of Nepal- New Jersey in collaboration with Nepal Rotary District clubs celebrated twenty years of humanitarian service projects in Nepal. On the occasion, the organizers honored several individuals who have been serving in the humanitarian field with the 2010 USA-Nepal Humanitarian Award amidst a function organized in Lalitpur, Patan, Nepal.  
 
This program was organized by Rotary Club of Himalaya Patan, Rotary Club of Mahabouddha and Rotary Club of Patan, Rotary Club of Yala.  Branchburg Rotary started its first scholarship with the Rotary Club of Patan 20 years ago.  Today, the Patan Rotary provides 639 scholarships to students in Nepal every year. There are more than 10 different humanitarian projects being conducted in Nepal in collaboration with various Rotary clubs. The most recent project was to start a micro-credit project in Bohara Gaau in Patan with the Rotary matching grant.

Readington Middle School's "MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY'  collected funds for ORPHANS IN NEPAL

YANNUZZI  made a special presentation at the Readington Middle School in Hunterdon county.
    Students collected $1500 for FONNJ's Orphan Scholarships in Nepal as part of their make a difference project.  Students also wrote about their holidays and translated in Nepali language.  Those books will be send to JOE's  library project in Nepal.   Joe was also appointed to be "Goodwill Ambassador" for Nepal.   Thank you Joe for all your help in promoting Nepal and helping village people with your library projects. YOUTH GROUP busy performing around the State.
YOUTH     WE would like to thank our Youth Group who have been performing around different events to promote Nepali culture and heritage. They recently participated in Holidays around the world events in Somerville and Carteret New Jersey.
Youth Language and Culture Classes in NJ 
Youth Langufonnj classage school has been conducting special classes every Saturday from 1 to 4 pm in Bernardsville.  There are more than 20 students who are particpating in the language and culture classes.  If you are interested in enrolling you children, please contact Mahesh Thapa at nepalischoolnj@gmail.com

Adoptive Families support Orphans in Nepal.
schoolAdoptive Families from the Tri-State areas, who have adopted kids from Nepal, collected more than $500 from various family members to support Orphan scholarship program run by FONNJ.  Scholarships will be provided to students studying in Thecho Sarashowti school.
We would like to Thank adoptive families for their generous support.
