SAVE ENERGY, SAVE MONEY, SAVE ENVIRONMENT
GET YOUR 5 FREE ENERGY SAVING BULBS TODAY! - ASK US HOW?

Are you experiencing the change in weather nowadays?  Do you find it odd that Washington State is increasingly cold this year and that we have received a lot more snowfall than normal?  If yes, you are experience the affects of climate change, a hot issue that is in the heart of every individual all over the world.  It is however not too late to make a difference and help change the climate back to normal.  Every bit of contribution matters.  Join Washington Jaycees in making a change and paving the way towards a Greener Earth.
Save Energy is a simple project launched by Washington State Jaycees on January 20, 2008, with a simple mission: help its members and our neighborhoods understand and make an impact towards the global warming and energy crisis we are facing today.
"Save Energy" is just one of those projects that is educating the Washington State Residents about the crisis and also helping our members take the first step towards making the change.  The project distributes FREE "energy saving incandescent bulbs" to its members.  These bulbs, on average, use 75% less energy compared to the regular traditional bulbs and provide the same amount of light.  Less energy consumption not only produces less heat for the planet, it also helps members save money on their electricity bills.  Each Washington Jaycee Member (Washington Jaycee Senators and current active members) is eligible to get up to 5 energy saving bulbs to help make a change.  Members are also encouraged to replace the rest of the bulbs in their households themselves with energy saving bulbs.
Here are some tips that will help you conserve energy and make a difference.  For more ideas, go to http://www.wajaycees.org or contact your local Washington Jaycees chapter.
1.    Turn off the lights when you leave the room
2.    Turn off the computer when possible
3.    Print only when necessary (and use both sides of the paper)
4.    Use fluorescent lamps and reduce energy cost by 75%
5.    Use a digital thermostat and automatically lower the temperature when you are
not in the house.
6.    Lower the house temperature by 1 F
7.    Unplug your charger out of the wall, when you are not charging your cell phone.  Yes, the charger still uses electricity when it is plugged in and not charging anything.
8.    Use cold water to wash clothes
9.    Use reusable grocery bags.  They don't tear and also keep plastic out of the landfills.
10.    Become a Washington Jaycee Member (website: http://www.wajaycees.org, email: evp@wajaycees.org) and get 5-Free energy saving light bulbs.  All former, existing or new members qualify.  Contact your chapter president for more details or ask the treasurer (treasurer@wajaycees.org) for free bulbs.*
Thank you,
