Greetings from your President

Round LogoI hope that everyone had a safe and joyous New Years Eve celebration. I would love to hear how some of you celebrated.

I spent my time at the Seattle Jaycee Bingo Hall. Originally I was going to pass out party hats and favors but I received a phone call around noon informing me that they were very short in the kitchen. So I pulled my hair back into a ponytail, threw on some comfortable shoes and got to work. It had been sometime since I had worked in any kind of kitchen other than my own (and you can ask my husband how much time I spend in that one - very little!) I talked with people, wrote down orders, worked the cash register, re-stocked the concession stand and even made some of the food (those poor, poor people)

The best part was looking out onto the Bingo floor a few minutes before midnight and watching everyone dancing in the aisles. Blowing their horns, clapping along to the music and hugging friends. I was thankful for a lot of things at that moment.

The Seattle Jaycees owns and operates a Bingo Hall because some forward thinking individuals volunteered their time, energy and heart by serving on the Seattle Jaycees Board of Directors. They knew that in order to truly make a difference we would need a steady flow of income. I was also thankful to the multitude of joyous people in front of me dancing in the aisles. Without their patronage of our Bingo Hall we would not have the money for our programming.

Want to find out just how much money and where it goes? Join us for our January General Membership Meeting tomorrow night at 6:30pm and we'll let you know.

We can make a difference in this world. You can make a difference, come find out how.
