SEND and YOU SHALL RECEIVE - Manage Your Inbox and Save Time

EmailAsk yourself these questions:

How many emails do I send and receive each day?
How many hours do I spend reading and responding to email?
Is this time well spent?
When was the last time my inbox was zero?

With emails, what you send is what you recieve. Reduce the size of your email inbox by reducing the number of emails you send. To get a quick handle on this, go to your "Sent email" box - how many of those emails were truly necessary to send?

Not everyone is a great communicator, but if you want to keep the lines of email communication flowing efficiently, and decrease the number of unnecessary emails you get, here are some guidelines:

  • Tell the person what you are asking them to do in clear, precise language.
  • Use words that are friendly, courteous and respectful.
  • Avoid words that are curt, demanding, or rude.
  • Don't overuse "Reply to All".
Email is a great tool for your business and personal life, but use it wisely! Break the bad and tiring habits to handle your emails like a professional. Develop good email habits to build efficiency and productivity.

Remember, by being proactive and cleaning up your emails, you'll increase your own efficiency as well as the efficiencies of others.
