Annual Logger's Jamboree

Popular event showcases regional history

North Fork Logger's Jamboree Flyer
North Fork is more than the exact center of California, it is a rich community with a history based in logging. While the logging industry is no longer the predominant force behind the community, the lifestyle is celebrated each year at the annual Logger's Jamboree.

This year's Jamboree, the 52nd annual event, is July 2 and 3. Competitors will show their skill with hand saws and souped-up chainsaws. They'll also test their mettle in events like the log roll.

The Logger's Jamboree is a fun way to experience the lifestyle once so prevalent throughout the region. For more information, call 559-676-7766.

Summer is most definitely here, arriving with the July 4 festivities taking place throughout the Yosemite region.

Madera has a large event planned, perfect for the whole family. Sponsored by the City of Madera, the event kicks off at 5 pm at the Madera Municipal Golf Course. There is a kids' activity zone, food and of course a fireworks display at sundown to light up the night.

The second annual Family Freedom Fest is set for Coarsegold. This free event starts at 9am in the Coarsegold Historic Village and includes music, food and vendors, as well as speakers including prominent politicians, talk show hosts and more.

Bass Lake is very well known for its annual July 4 display. The big show starts at 9 pm, but the party starts long before as people gather at Bass Lake for a day of fun.

Numerous other events take place throughout July and beyond. For more on what to see and do, visit our Calendar of Events.
