BallenIsles Sales*
 102A Palm Point
May has been a banner month for sales with eleven properties closing.  Add in an additional eleven pending contracts that will close in the coming months and things are definitely looking more positive.  Inventory remains surprisingly low with only 101 properties currently on the market for sale.  The less favorable news is that buyers are extremely price savvy and are insisting on value pricing.  Additionall, marketing time remains lengthy.

GREAT ESCAPESPeanut Island
Peanut Island

Peanut Island was created in 1918 as a result of material excavated when the Lake Worth Inlet was created. Originally called Inlet Island, Peanut Island amounted to only ten (10) acres. By 1923 the Port was using the island as a spoil site for the maintenance of the inlet and the Port shipping channel. Today, as a result of continued maintenance dredging of the inlet and the Intracoastal Waterway, Peanut Island comprises approximately eighty (80) acres. The name Peanut was given to the island when the State gave permission for use of the island as a terminal for shipping peanut oil. Plans for this enterprise were abandoned in 1946, but the name was retained.

This unique tropical park is situated in the Intracoastal Waterway near the Lake Worth Inlet. The park is a favorite destination for boaters and provides numerous recreational opportunities for visitors. Fishing and snorkeling are popular activities in the beautiful clear waters that surround the island. Guarded and unguarded swimming beaches provide the perfect access for bathers of all ages to enjoy the sun and fun. For visitors looking for an overnight experience, a twenty-site Campground is available for tent campers by reservation as well as limited Natural Areas Beach Camping in designated areas.

No visit to Peanut Island is complete without taking a casual stroll on the paver pathways which wind around the perimeter of the Island. And for the history buff, enjoy a visit to the Palm Beach Maritime Museum and the famous John F Kennedy bunker which was built as an emergency hideaway during the Cold War.  A truly unique place, Peanut Island Park has something to offer everyone!
