REAL ESTATE TRENDS
BallenIsles Sales*
January sales of properties reflect the quiet time just after the holiday season. We expect to see this number pick up in the next couple of months as renters and new buyers in the market place begin to go to contract. Inventory has inched upward by 10% to 110 properties currently for sale.
BALLENISLES SALES - JANUARY
102 Emerald Key Lane 3 3 375,000
113 Chasewood Circle 3 3.5 460,000
110 St Martin Drive 4 4.5 1,150,000
Recently, US News and World Report had this to say "With home prices at the national level down a painful 32 percent from their 2006 peaks, it's easy to overlook real estate's benefits as a long-term investment. But the truth is, despite the ongoing housing bust, the overwhelming majority of America's real estate markets will appreciate over the next 10 years-although some more handsomely than others."

Grassy Water Preserve
Grassy Waters Preserve is a community based conservation center that offers unique education and recreational opportunities on the edge of a vast 20 square mile wetlands resource. The Preserve today features nature center pavilions, boardwalk trails, hiking, canoeing, environmental education, interpretive programs and more. In providing educational and recreational opportunities to the community.
By virtue of its long established integrity, Grassy Waters Preserve remains as one of the few year round wetland refuges for the Everglades Snail Kite, Limpkin, Southern Bald Eagle, Great Blue Heron, Short-tailed Hawks, Snowy Egret, Glossy and White Ibis and a host of other avian species. Its vast size permits the interplay of top predator and prey to continue undisrupted between Bobcat and White-tail Deer, Alligator and Wild Hog, Eagle and Bass and is supportive of a myriad of food chains that have existed in these sub-tropical wetlands long before man was part of natural selection.
