Restaurant Review Suite 225 by Vicki Slotnick
Yeah, yeah, just what we need, another Asian restaurant. This one's different. It's been around quite a while and deservedly so! We eat there quite often, and never get tired of the great food and great service. And there is plenty of outside dining! This visit was on another gorgeous night in December, very close to Christmas, when the folks up north were freezing their tootsies off. We sat at one of the tables under the lighted awning. We started out with crispy rock shrimp in a spicy citrus sauce, yummy as always. We also shared a tataki tempura seared tuna with masago, wasabi cream and chili sauce. It was beautifully presented and just as delicious. My Dad, 97 years young, proclaimed this place as his all time favorite restaurant. He ordered the Shrimp tempura dinner served with wonderful tender crisp baby green beans, shredded sautéed carrots, and wonderful mashed potatoes. My husband and I had our favorite, the crispy whole snapper served with a slightly spicy ginger vinaigrette. It comes accompanied by a spring roll or summer roll, either one is great. We couldn't resist trying some of the wonderful side dishes that are offered, brown butter mashed sweet potatoes (easily the best mashed sweets I have ever had), and sautéed baby bok choy crisp yet tender, and wonderfully fresh. This place has some great desserts. My husband ordered one of them in secret since he knew I would object. When the brownie came out, I caved. Vanilla ice cream, a beautiful sweet strawberry, and some wonderful chocolate sauce accompanied the brownie. The place has some great salads, lots of other wonderful pan Asian starters, some good looking noodle dishes, tempuras, a very unusual sushi and rolls menu, even some poultry, pork and beef items for the landlubbers. Check it out... this restaurant is so worth the 1/2 hour drive. Suite 225 is located at 225 East Ocean Avenue in Lantana.Their phone number is 582-2255. Reservations are recommended.
