Match of the Game 2010

the New England Patriots Radio Network to ensure that young people are connected to caring adult mentors.

They are extending an invitation to mentor/mentee matches in the MMP network to attend a Patriots home game for the 2010 season as their special guests. For each regular-season home game, MMP will select one match to attend.

Interested mentors and mentees must apply online in order to be considered, and the deadline is Aug. 13. Learn more and access the application.

Check out the Mass Matches website - a new, interactive, informative, and user-friendly collection of match activities! The listings include prices and websites, and allows you to list your comments to let other matches know about the experiences you shared.

Highland Street Free Fun Fridays
The "Free Fun Fridays" program invites Massachusetts residents and Highland Street logotourists to visit for free a designated museum or attraction over 10 Fridays this summer through Labor Day Weekend. The full schedule is on the Highland Street website.

There's still time to sign up for the Volunteer Referral Service/National Mentoring Database webinars hosted by MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership. This is a great way to learn how to maximize the number of volunteer referrals your program receives.
Western MA volunteer center
The ACT Volunteer Center is the only full-service volunteer center in Western MA. It is now sending a bi-weekly newsletter that will highlight volunteer opportunities in the region, help bring Western MA nonprofits together, and give information about new ACT initiatives.

Big Brothers Big Sisters report
Civic Enterprises' latest report highlights the lives of the youth served by Big Brothers Big Sisters, many of whom are at-risk. Civic Enterprises also offers their own views of the next steps for Big Brothers Big Sisters as it undergoes a nationwide strategic planning process to initiate an engagement and advocacy strategy that will provide at-risk children the tools they need to achieve success.

  • TAG PANAS will host a free student conference on July 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the UMass Boston Campus Center. It will feature workshops based on potential career paths, as well as a mini college fair. Contact tagpanas@gmail.com for more info.
