"Community Conversation" in Western Massachusetts Join
mentoring colleagues from Western Massachusetts and across the state at
the "Community Conversation on the Power of Mentoring" on March 23 from 8
a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Big Y Headquarters - 2145 Roosevelt Ave.,
Springfield.
The event, which will focus on using mentoring as a workforce
development strategy, features Dr. Timothy Black,
author of "When a Heart Turns Rock Solid: The Lives of Three Puerto
Rican Brothers On and Off the Streets."

Recognize special mentors or mentees: nominate them for an award
New England Patriots MVP awards New England residents, ages 13 or older who provide volunteer services for non-profit organizations, are eligible for nomination for this award. Only one nominee may be considered from each organization. The strongest applicants will be non-compensated volunteers.
Twenty-one winners will be chosen and grants ranging
between $2,500 and $10,000 will be awarded to the non-profit
organization for which each honoree volunteers. Nominate a volunteer today - nominations are due March 31.
Women in Development philanthropist and volunteer awards Through the Young Philanthropist award and the Young Volunteer award, WID of Greater Boston recognizes extraordinary young volunteers and fundraisers for nonprofit organizations. Learn more or nominate someone - nominations are due April 30.
Reflection in Action Youth Leadership award This award recognizes outstanding youth leaders who represent the vision and purpose of RIA, exhibit leadership qualities, advocate on behalf of those marginalized by society, advocate for health and educational opportunities, are role models for civic engagement and participate in or support the arts.
Middle school and high school students who live in or attend school in Boston or Cambridge are eligible for nomination. Get the nomination form - the deadline is April 16.
