Massachusetts FY 2011 budget Gov. Patrick releases his proposed FY11 budget on Jan. 27, beginning the state budgeting process for this year.

Training opportunity: "Organizing to Prevent State Budget Cuts" This Feb. 2 training will assist with:
- Understanding the state budget process, the politics involved, and how state legislators think about these decisions;
- How to organize effective local meetings with legislators; and
- Learning more about revenue and taxes so you can answer "how do we pay for what you're asking for when we have deficits in the billions?"

Massachusetts Dept. of Public Health (MDPH) Funding Opportunity An RFR from MDPH has been released for applicants with the commitment and capacity to run age-appropriate, youth development programs in Massachusetts for young people, ages 10-24. Programs must utilize a youth development model that engages girls and boys in decision-making, developing their voice, enhancing life skills, and broadening their social supports with role models in the community and/or their peers.
Deadline to apply is Feb. 18.
