Go Team!

There is nothing like taking the kids to a ball game. Here at GKN we are looking forward to a big year from LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Check out the game schedule and learn more about King James.
The baseball season will get underway in the spring with the Cleveland Indians. Let's see if they can repeat their outstanding 2007 performance. Click here for a recap of the season.
In football, the Cleveland Browns also had a great season at 10-6, but just missed the playoffs. Tune in next August for more action.
In addition to the great major league teams in Cleveland, the area also has some great minor league teams.
In baseball, the Akron Aeros play at Canal Park near lock 3 in downtown Akron. They are the official Double A farm team for the Indians, so come out and see the future stars close up. Kids may want to join the Orbit's Kids Club for discount tickets and give-aways at selected games.
Also in Akron, come see the women's fast pitch softball team, the Akron Racers.

Book Reviews |
|
Here are some books that make us want to play ball even when it's cold outside.
Good Sports by Jack Prelutsky is a fun book of poems about running, jumping and sports. The rhymes are fun and the illustrations are great!

Play Ball, Amelia Bedelia by Peggy Parish is one of the many great Amelia Bedelia adventures. Amelia Bedelia brings lots of her silly ideas to the local little league team when they are one player short. Her techniques are unorthodox, but in the end she is able to save the day.
