There's a childrens playground rhyme that used to be sung across the UK 'Make New Friends, Keep the Old, One is Silver and the other Gold'. All though our kids now prefer to sing along to Rizzle Kicks the meaning of the song still holds strong. This month we'd like to encourage children from all walks of life and backgrounds to make new friends.
We hope that you've all had a fun filled summer and that you're all back into the swing of 'term life' now. Your child should have started to settle into their new school or pre school, beginning the process of making new friends or strengthening existing bonds with their peers. It's also really important for your child to cultivate good social skills outside of school, creating an even larger friendship group.
Why not take a look at the various different activities that are available for your little one.
And if you have tots that are pre-school why not start them on that friendship journey early and make a few of your own along the way?

The programme was developed by Judy Murray at home and in the garden as she tried to occupy two active kids - Jamie and Andy! They were great fun but they also helped them to develop the coordination skills that would allow them to play any sport competently in later life. It goes without saying that they went on to become pretty decent tennis players, but Jamie also has a 3 handicap at golf and Andy once trialled with Glasgow Rangers.

Before you set off Trick and Treating...
