Multi Sports Coaching for 3 - 9

Olympic Committees show that most Olympians point out that they had support from their parents, were not pressured, and stayed in their sport because of the love of the sport and because they had fun.

The importance of getting our children active, together with all the benefits has been widely documented now. At Enjoy-a-Ball we believe that sports activities should be started early in life (aged 3) if approached with a non-pressure attitude that focuses on basic skills and not with the presumption that this is the beginning of an Olympic or professional debut. Enjoy-a-Ball is not about turning children into elite athletes but rather about giving all children an opportunity to develop both physical and life skills in a safe, secure, and fun-filled environment. The small class sizes (12 max) allow each child to receive an enormous amount of praise and encouragement while they have fun learning ten different ball sports. This variety allows children to try sports that they perhaps hadn't even heard of let alone developed skills in; it is amazing how many times we find children enjoying a sport that they may not have tried until much older.

  • Voted best UK activity
  • For children aged 3 - 9
  • Ten ball sports
  • Small class sizes
  • Children's parties
  • Join at any time
  • Caring, positive, fun environment

"Hi Paul, I wanted to share this with y

How can your little one benefit from music?

During the first five years in a child's life it's important to establish singing as a means of communication and expression. Research shows that babies in particular, need to have all their senses stimulated.

The benefits of music for babies and young children are enormous - from speech development, social skills, confidence, co-ordination, and creativity... to name just a few!

Rhythm Time is a leading provider of educational music classes to young children, and are passionate about the benefits that music can bring. "Our classes are fun for everyone and it's wonderful to see how the babies and young children develop in our classes"" says Frances Donkin, owner of the longest-running and largest Rhythm Time franchise in the Cheshire area.

Rhythm Time's unique set of music courses focus on specific age groups: Multi-sensory baby classes (from birth - 14 months); exciting toddler classes (from 15mths - 3yrs); and educational pre-school classes (3yrs - 5yrs).

Frances recently won Franchisee of the Year in the Mum and Working Awards 2011 and is proud to be part of such a successful and well-renowned company. She's offering a free trial session to anyone who would like to try her classes PLUS a 10% discount on a Rhythm Time birthday party up until end of March 2012. Phone her on 01270 884583 or visit www.rhythmtime.net

Try Something New...4 FREE!

Did you know the average spend by parents in baby's first year is now estimated at nearly £10,000 and that by their 21st birthday the total average spend comes in at a whopping £200,000! No wonder that many parents are and cutting back on non-essentials. The good news is that doesn't have to mean postponing plans to try a new class, group or activity!

As parents we know the importance of getting out and about with children - whatever age they are - enjoying the interaction, stimulation, friendship and exercise - and the experts agree! The Royal College of Psychiatrists encourages new mums to go to baby groups or postnatal support groups to help combat post-natal depression* and as children grow, the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle cannot be underestimated. Childhood obesity is one of the most serious public health challenges of the 21st century according to The World Health Organisation so giving your little one an active start in life and maintaining that enthusiasm is one of the best parenting choices you can make - with benefits to their health, self-esteem and ability to manage stress and anxiety.

Here at What's On 4 we have teamed up with many of our lovely UK-wide clients to offer you 'Something New 4 Free'! This means you can attend the class or lesson for free and check out whether it is for you and your child before committing to  a course or regular weekly session. And, as your children grow, and their interests change (by the week!) a free session is a great way to ensure it's really what they want to do! Some providers are offering more than one class 4 free and some local councils also offer completely free activity or events to attend.

So....just look out for the Try Something New 4 Free logo across all the sites and for our 'Try Something New 4 Free' week in early Feb where we will be featuring the many wonderful activities that offer a free trial.  Keep posted by following us on facebook, Twitter  @whatson4  and for more ideas you can also check out our 10 Free - or Nearly Free - Things To Do With Your Little Ones
