Competition Time

This month win 1 of 4 Doh Nutters games worth £16.99 each

Doh CuttersDoh Nutters - from Drumond Park, the UK's leading independent games company (rrp £16.99) has now sold over one million copies - and remains a long trunk's length ahead in the kids' games popularity stakes!

Any parent will tell you - kids just love putting on the bespectacled 'big ears' trunk mask.  When everyone is ready, the youngest player shouts "start" - and using their trunks only, players scoop up all of their own coloured doughnuts as fast as possible - onto their trunks. And with between two and four players (from age 4 upwards) playing at a time, you can keep a whole crowd of boys and girls blissfully happy.  They'll play this fast action, hilariously funny game for hours and hours.

So, which will be the first elephant to get its three doughnuts on its trunk?  The first one is easy, the next harder - and with the final doughnut, tension reaches an all time high! DOH NUTTERS is a frantic fun-for-all that grown-ups can also join in and enjoy - perfect for every sort of gathering!

Call 01506 855577 for stockists, or visit www.drumondpark.com

To win send your name and address to the following question to us at competitions@whatson4.com by 15th July 2009.  Good Luck!

Mums in Business

This month we hear from Rachel who owns a Monkey Music franchise in Edinburgh.

Rachel"My background has been entirely business orientated.  I started working for the family business and progressed through recruitment into sales, marketing and business development.  When I had my daughter 2 years ago.  I realised that it was going to be difficult to juggle everything.

I was introduced to Monkey Music as a parent when my daughter was just 3 months old.  I really liked the whole franchise package that Monkey Music was offering and all the help and support they provided so I then decided to buy a franchise.

I started teaching 3 days a week and that developed in the second term to teaching 4 days per week and I have two half days in the office.  I am now exploring working with another teacher and look forward to this new challenge.

The classes only operate during the academic term.  I work the evening mostly and try very hard not to do too much during the weekends so that I can spend time with my daughter.

It's the most rewarding job I have had.  I love the fact that my varied career has come together in all the things I now do each and every day.  There aren't many roles that can give you the freedom and flexibility to cater for everyone's needs.

It is hard work and you are really busy at certain times of the term but if you enjoy being your own boss, being creative and above all meeting people and showing off just how great Monkey Music is then this is definitely the role for you"

Real Parties - a Farm Party

Sarah from Hampshire tells us about her son's 5th birthday party!

When planning my son Harrison's 5th birthday, there was no question of what he wanted to do!
He just loves animals so having searched the What's on 4 Kids Parties directory, I found the Family Adventure Farm between Newbury and Basingstoke.

We invited 20 of his school friends and I made up some farm animal party food boxes before we arrived.

DonkeyThe farm has a daily itinerary of events so, upon arrival, our party group was treated to a tractor ride around the farm.  After which, we had fun watching a pig race and then the children were able to have a pony ride.

There were lots of other things to do in between the activities, including a bouncy castle, climbing equipment, wavy slide and battery operated jeeps!

We hired a party room and towards the end of the party, the children sat down for a well earned feast!

Every child had a fabulous time and the birthday boy is still talking about it!   I would recommend a farm party, whatever the weather.  There is something for everyone and the parents get to have a great day out too!

For further information about the Family Adventure Farm, please visit www.knightsbidgeanimalrescue.co.uk or visit www.whatson4kidsparties.co.uk for party ideas or venues in your area.
