Happenings/Events
The Dayton Region has announced the next Big Breakfast.  The breakfast will be on August 13th from 7:30-9:00 AM and will feature former Iams Pet Food owner Clay Mathile.

The Cincinnati Region  once a year co-sponsors  the Willow Creek Leadership Conference.  This year the conference is being held on August 6th & 7th.  In conjunction with our ministry partner At Work on Purpose, member Teakwood Marketing and others they are also doing quarterly base camp leadership sessions.  These are on a Thursday evening at the TriCounty Vineyard so they are very accessible to South Dayton people as well.

So the question is, "Do you want to continue your current leadership style or do you want to set a higher standard that represents Him?"  Attend all of these events to honor Him.

Also we are all leaders in the marketplace, so you do not need a title to attend.

More information on these events can be found by visiting the Christian Marketplace Network web site.

Helpful Business Hints

JOTT: This is for all of you tech savvy entrepreneurs who have made your life a mess with too many devices and for the rest of us who can't afford an assistant.

With Jott Assistant and Jott for Salesforce, you just call a simple phone number, speak your notes, messages, or updates and hang up. Jott Voicemail works the same way, but your friends, family, and colleagues are the ones leaving the messages when they call your number. Then, Jott takes the spoken messages, turns them into text, and sends them to the right destination via email, text message, or web update.  HOW COOL IS THIS?

SPAM;  The number one way you can help eliminate Spam is to not keep forwarding e-mails with e-mail addresses on them.  This is the number 1 way spammers capture addresses.

We are always looking for tips for saving time and/or money or help with producing additional revenue.  Please share them with others.

From the Editor... WHO ARE WE
by Bill Gaffney

Our vision statement says:  To become the premier resource where marketplace Christians connect to build business relationships.

I was having lunch this past week with one of our regional leaders (and he even bought!).  We were discussing the first part of the statement, to become the premier resource.  In many ways we have started to accomplish that but there is much more to do.

I think what we do can be boiled down to two words, quality and standard.  It is not enough to talk about high quality and standards.  We have to strive to exceed even those because we have been chosen for the role as marketplace leaders, individually and as an organization.

Jesus said, "If you have lusted in your heart you have sinned'" as well as a couple additional ones.  This teaching really says there are God's standards (no adultery) and then there are the standards we should be striving for (no lust) which are even higher.  Of course we never achieve higher than God's standards but we must try.  That is the real message we carry to the marketplace.

We also try to carry that message in this newsletter.  What we print should help you to achieve that.  Hopefully we are helping.  But we are always open for more suggestions, ideas and articles.

Enjoy this month's newsletter.

CUSTOMER SERVICE ISN'T THEIR PROBLEM, IT'S YOURS
From Biz Journals

Businesses fail because customers stop buying. Customers stop buying because they don't like the company. It ain't the price of the product. I have a competitor who charges much more than I do for the same service, and his calendar always is full.
