Helpful Business Hints

EMail:  Are you bogged down, spending 2-3 hours or more each day, with EMail?   Here are some practical tips:

  • Check only 2-3 times per day.
  • Turn off any reminders that you have new email.
  • Don't let email back-up.  Do something.  Respond, file for future, forward to someone else to handle, etc.  GET RID OF IT!!
  • If an email in your in-box is more than 2-3 weeks old, chances are you don't need it any more.  GET RID OF IT!!
  • Save personal emails for after hours.

YOU MANAGE EMAIL.  DON'T LET IT MANAGE YOU!

We are always looking for tips for saving time and/or money or help with producing addtional revenue.  Please share them with others.

FORWARD THIS NEWSLETTER
From the Editor...
by Bill Gaffney

One of the great things about writing this newsletter is I pretty well get to choose what goes in it (with the exception of our Director of Marketing,  Mark Snow's, final review and edit!).  One of the bad things is I pretty well get to choose what goes in it.

This is both good and bad because I always have more material than we can include.  When we started doing this newsletter over a year ago, one of our aims was to provide articles and information on business, both secular and Christian, that was beneficial to the bulk of our readers.  Hopefully we have succeeded!

This month is no different.  I have had to leave out articles we didn't have room for.   But I think you will find everything we included useful.  You don't have to read it all at once, by the way.  When you have a few free minutes at different times during the month choose one of the articles and read it.

If you see something or write something  you think we should include please forward it.

Bill

CBN-USA EXECUTIVE RETREAT

On Saturday, December 8th the members of the CBN-USA Executive Committee met and discussed where we are and where we are going.

The Executive Committee is made up of two members from each region and members of the National Executive team.

You will be seeing more about this, including some changes, over the next few months.  The changes will appear minor to our members and guests but are critical to keep us successful.

One item I want to highlight is people.  People obviously are the key to our success.  We need to grow, add new people and get new perspectives.  So how can you help?
  • Bring visitors to the meetings
  • Encourage new people to join
  • Get involved with leadership at the chapter and regional levels (this really isn't as time consuming as you may think, 2-3 hours per month)
  • Tell us about other sources for getting the word out about CBN-USA
  • RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP!!!
We look forward to another successful year!

Practicing Integrity When No One Is Looking

Some businesspeople practice integrity when compelled or when customers are watching. Others practice integrity when they believe no one is watching.

As an author, speaker and business consultant Steve Marr helps companies and organizations apply the ancient wisdom of the Bible to avoid the common mistakes and headaches of growing a business.

Sincerely,
