November Update

Harvest Fest 2010 at Mothers & Company was a great party, if we do say so ourselves, with ~50 families joining us for the festivities.  Check out many photos of the event (i

This month is when we all hunker down to give thanks, enjoy loved ones, find our sweaters and jeans and get busy with shopping for holiday gifts.  We hope you'll be thrilled to know that this holiday season, Mothers & Company is THE place to shop!

Whether you're looking for a grown-up or a baby or toddler, we've got unique gifts.  SO much has come in and we're always rearranging to make space for new items, so come visit and you'll be pleasantly surprised.  Music by Rockabye Baby, Susie Tallman and Putumayo, too.  Elf on the ShelfWe even have the Elf on the Shelf gift set, in-stock in both light and dark skinned elves. Looking for cloth snack and sandwich bags, we've got them.  Looking for metal snack and lunch containers, we've got them.  Looking for American-made wooden toys, we've got them.  You've gotta come and check it all out.  And warm cider is back!

And don't forget about classes, groups and events.  More on those below.
And SAVE THE DATE for our Holiday Party and Gift Bazaar the afternoon of Saturday, December 4.    More info on that event to come soon.  We're looking for local crafters to exhibit their wares, so if you (or someone you know) are interested, please contact us.

Oh, and the Fall can be a challenging time for everyone.  It's darker, cooler and can be stressful as we prepare for Thanksgiving and the Holidays.  Consider giving yourself the gift of a session of Reiki.  Our own co-founding momma, Kimberly, is a Reiki Master and will be available for sessions on Tuesday afternoons in our Consultation Room (which will be remodeled this weekend).  For more information, contact her.  We're excited to have her, as we've been begging her to come do reiki for years!  If you haven't experienced reiki before, you'll be so amazed and how relaxed and healing it can be.

While we already had the largest selection of quality child carriers, wraps and slings in New England, we recently added three more:  the Sleepy Wrap, the Boba Soft Carrier and the Scootababy Hip Carrier.  We also added the new Ergo Options carrier, to which you can snap three different prints so it looks like you have a printed Ergo!

We love healthy lotions and soaps and balms.  We recently added several lines:  Episcential, Bum Bum Balm and Eco-Store.  Come check them out, sniff them, feel them...all super-healthy.Episcential

Packing a lunch for your toddler, preschooler, teenager or yourself?  We have several options in metal containers and cloth snack and sandwich bags.

Looking for a crafty gift?  We have some great options...box kits so your child can sew (with your help) a squirrel keychain, make a necklace or make a stuffed animal.  You've just gotta see them, affordable and cute!

And wooden toys...you're always searching for wooden toys that are NOT from China...we've got some.  Made in Vermont and not coated with anything!  Perfect!

Come on over!  Shop local.  Thanks!

There's always a lot of exciting stuff going on at Mothers & Company, get involved and you'll be glad you did!  Here's what some of our clients are saying about MoCo:

Took the natural childbirth class and Loved it! So much fun. Have purchased cloth diapers, toys, carriers and many other things. Couldn't survive without the groups and awesome helpful Mommas who rescued my nursing relationship with my daughter. 5 stars for MoCo!

MoCo is fabulous! We've taken several classes there - LOVE natural childbirth, and the cloth diaper workshop. Have also purchased cloth diapers & accessories. The childbirth class was amazing & made me so knowledgeable and confident in myself when giving birth! Cloth diaper workshop was awesome for checking out the diapers & learning lots before plunking down the cash. Everyone there is warm, friendly, and helpful. You must check out this awesome natural parenting resource!

I moved to Massachusetts from Portland, Oregon where there are tons of resources for moms and babies. I was very afraid that I wouldn't find anything like them here and was so excited to discover MoCo! In fact, they have more than I could have hoped for.

The staff is knowledgeable and 100% approachable. I have always left Mothers & Co feeling that I am a valued customer. When I arrive I am always greeted with a warm smile and have received tutorials when I had questions about diaper and diaper products. When I have had questions, staff were able to provide information or call me at home when they were able to research on the information. I have attended many classes both while I was pregnant and now with my infant son and have enjoyed the community outreach in getting to know other mothers in the area. I find it such a comfort and source of support to know that I am not alone in my feelings on many issues. I find Mothers & Company to be unlike 99% of all businesses out there. The staff truly care about you and your child and make your trip to be a wonderful and pleasant experience.

A friend of mine had referred me to MoCo (Mother's and Company) about 2 weeks after my son was born (now 16months). Due to being tired and shy I held out going to MoCo until my son, Chace was 3 months old. The first time that I went, I asked myself why I was so nervous in the first place. The mothers of MoCo welcomed me with open arms and made me feel more comfortable than I would ever thought. I had wished that I had gone much sooner. Through the months of going to MoCo I have met so many wonderful people and have formed great friendships for myself and my child. I have also gained a great security in myself as a new mother knowing that I have someone/some place to turn to if I have a need or question. I recommend them to every pregnant mom I see and friend with baby already, I even hit up random strangers and let them know. I consider it paying it forward. Spreading the love. =) Mother's and Company has been there and I am truly grateful for all they do.

And to that, we say THANK YOU!

Thank you for all you do to help spread the word that Mothers & Company is here for families in Central Massachusetts.

We hope to see you soon!
Thank you for your love and support.
