As you await the arrival of your new baby,
you're probably wondering who your child will be as well as who you will be as a parent
and when you'll first hold your baby in your arms. But don't hurry it too much, enjoy this time, as the bonding is happening in your heart and mind and soul now.
Mothers
& Company has many classes and groups that will help you bond with your
baby prenatally, learn all you need to know (and much more) about labor Baby. The most precious gift. Ever.  | birth,
breastfeeding and newborn care. We
have classes that will help you move your body (which keep that placenta working
well!). And we encourage you to
come to our parenting groups--yes, during your pregnancy! Be the most prepared momma or poppa you can be!
Mothers
& Company's Fall schedule is ready for you to browse. We've made it easy for you to find the
right classes by separating today's enewsletters into age ranges: Expecting,
Baby, and Toddler/Preschooler (so if you wondered why you are seeing 3 different enewsletters in your inbox, that's why).
Back
on our schedule is Prenatal Yoga on Wednesday evenings. We're excited to announce a new class
for pregnant mommas, Prenatal Bellydance, on Monday evenings. So now you can get a good workout
that's good for you and your baby two evenings per week! Yipee! See below for
details.
What's the recommended plan?
Let's see, you're in the midst of your pregnancy. If you're in your first trimester, you're just enjoying it and eating healthy and trying to be fit, so come do some prenatal fitness classes on Mondays and Wednesday. Then your second trimester you're starting to think about birth a little bit more, so sign up for a full set of childbirth classes at MoCo. Taking childbirth classes is something we strongly encourage. Would you ever start a new job without some training? Sure, there's on-the-job training (and you'll get some of that, too), but you'll feel more confident, prepared and excited about birth and taking care of a baby if you have the most thorough and fun prenatal classes in the region! 
We have a
wonderful selection of beautiful gently used maternity and nursing
clothes on
consignment. We work hard to have
varied sizes and style. Come in
and try them on in our dressing room, which is in our Abra-cada-BRA room, where
you'll also find a huge selection of nursing bras. 34-37 weeks is the perfect time to get fitted
for a comfy bra to wear in late pregnancy and early postpartum
(something you can, a-hem, grow into).
Then after the baby comes, we recommend coming in around 3-6 weeks
postpartum for what we affectionately call a "grown-up bra" in your new
size!
If you're in your third trimester you may already be taking classes or not have time to squeeze in a full series at this point, but maybe one of our Newborn Care, Movement & Comfort for Labor, Breastfeeding Basics or Friends & Family CPR will fit into your schedule. Or the Birth Circle. Definitely the Birth Circle. Not one to be missed.
Okay, then there's birth. We're huge fans of doulas (since most of our co-founders are doulas), so find out more about having a doula from our Blog. Then contact us to get referrals to local doulas (we also can provide you with referrals to midwives, doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists and more!).

Then there's maternity leave/paternity leave. There's lots to keep you busy at home with a new baby, but you need to leave the house at some point. Come on over, hang out with us. Whether just in the shop in our cozy "living room" or in a group or class, you'll feel right at home with lots of parents who know what it's like to have a new baby in your world.

local instead of the big box stores, you support families in your area. And we're a mom-friendly workplace--Did you know that most of the moms who
work at MoCo bring their babies to work (or did when their babies were
younger)? And we give back to the

Bellydance NEW Meet other pregnant mothers-to-be
and learn gentle belly dance moves to enhance your pregnancy. This will be a
class adapted for women in all stages of pregnancy. It will infuse mindfulness
of breath, yoga, muscle toning and cardio---all while learning Tribal Fusion
Belly Dance! Come honor the amazing transformation taking place within your
body as you dance in the company of other women. Mondays, 6:30 -
7:30 pm, six-weeks, starting September 13.

While it's not for everyone, there are many myths and misperceptions
about it. And yes, it can save you

the facts and figure out if it's right for
your family's lifestyle.

Diaper-free
Baby Discussion
Have
you heard of elimination communication? It's also known as "diaper-free
baby". If you're curious about it, practicing it part-time or
full-time, this is a change to meet other parents interested in having a
diaper-free baby. Facilitated by Heather, a mom who has been
practicing EC for almost two years. Free.

GLBT Family Playgroup Does your baby
have two moms? Two dads? However your family was created, if you are part of
the GLBT community and are expecting a baby, have children or even grandchildren,
this is the group for you!

This is a group for single
moms, moms who are parenting entirely or mostly on their own for one reason or
another, moms whose partners are living far away (i.e. military service), moms
whose children do not know their fathers and moms who chose to have a baby
without a partner.

enrollment for the Fall CSA. So,

of participants is met, we'll continue to host the CSA at Mothers &

If you register
IN the shop, we'll help you through the process and answer any questions. We build your online registry for you and let you know when it's ready for online purchasing.
Here's the process we recommend: come in, fill out some basic paperwork,
put everything you want in a bin/bag. We'll keep that bin/bag handy for when someone comes to buy something
for you, which makes it easy for them and guarantees that your products are in stock*. We'll add the items and
your registry info to our online registry within a week or so after you register (in-store registries only). If you'd like cards that say "registered at Mothers & Company", we can provide you with those. And after the baby comes, we off a
"complete your registry" coupon for a nice discount. And don't forget to add a year's worth MoCo Membership to
your wish list!

families. We're committed to continuing to offer
many free groups and events but to do that we need your support by
