Infant Massage Saturday, November 14, 10:00 - 11:15 am Join
us to learn the many benefits of infant massage. This fun and relaxing
class is taught by a certified infant massage instructor (Laura, who is also an occupational therapist and mother) who gives
demonstration of techniques while you practice with your baby. Handouts
and a bottle of oil to take home are provided, just bring baby and a warm blanket. Infant massage
benefits include:
- assists with bonding through pleasurable
experiences
- improved sleep after massage
- promotes rest, relaxation,
digestion, weight gain, and elimination
- improved social development
- increases blood flow, and circulation of nutrients to the muscles

Bellydance for Everywoman
| Saturday, November 14, 1:00 - 3:00 pm Want something fun to do this weekend? Come on ova, ladies! Bellydance! No experience needed...just shake your hips (with help from Brooke Bishara, bellydancer. Did you know that bellydance originated as a way for women to bond together during birth (and facilitate birthing)? Come together and bond as women and shake those birthing hips!
We'll be there...No experience or belly-baring required.
Just come to have fun. Bring a friend, neighbor, mother, grandmother
and/or teenager! And please note, there are NO mirrors on the wall in
the room...it's a girl's afternoon out!

Music and Movement for Toddlers
Wednesdays, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm 4-week series, starts 11/18 For
parent (or caregiver) and child. Experience the joys and
benefits of creative movement, music, rhythm and song! Come and enjoy a
class where you and your child can interact with others, sing songs,
move to different kinds of music (classical, R&B, jazz, swing, etc)
and play with fun props that keep us moving and improvising! Led by
mother and music specialist Patti Lahey, who has 25 years of experience
leading families in music and movement.

Boot-y Camp(mommy fitness) Thursdays 1:30 - 2:30 pm 6-week series starts November 19th, ends January 7, 2010. Fun
interval training featuring cardio & weights followed by abs and
gentle stretching. Bring baby, or come for some "me time". Coordination and rhythm not
required, but please get the okay from your doctor! Open to moms who
have been given the go-ahead from their midwife or doctor that it's
safe to exercise post-baby. Non-crawling babies welcome to attend and
can be incorporated into your workout if desired. Led by Cathy,

The Motherhood Balance Thursdays, 11:30 - 12:30, drop-in group Come chat about how your life is changed, compare notes with other new moms and learn from the super-experienced mommas that lead the group. Laughter is guaranteed...Facilitation of the group is shared by Lois Freedman and Cindy Morningstar. Lois is a mother of two and maternal mental health counselor with 20 years of experience counseling women and mothers. Cindy has a degree in early childhood development and is the mother of 13 children (ranging in age from 24 years to 16 months). First time is free, future drop-ins are $10 for members, $11 for non-members. Refreshments provided.

Moco is Now a Car Seat Safety Checkpoint
In the last tw o weeks, about 20 families had their car safety seats checked by Certified Car Seat Safety Technicians at Mothers & Company.
We plan to have one Saturday per month as a day when car seat safety technicians will be there to check car seats. Stay tuned...it's always free but donations of non-perishable but healthy foods for the Worcester County Food Bank are greatly appreciated!

Here at Mothers & Company, Lois Freedman offers private sessions to pregnant and postpartum women. It is her dream that every woman have a sacred space to discuss her life, explore her emotions and feel comforted during the journey to motherhood and throughout her life. During pregnancy and new motherhood, while feeling excited and joyful, some women also experience painful emotions. Lois sees women for: loss, trauma, anxiety, miscarriage, traumatic birth experience, the loss of a loved one and VBAC preparation.
