Yey, the sun arrived in time for our 4th of July festivities! Now that's independence--being able to choose whether to be outside or inside. And look, it's actually green out there! What a great time to get some good ol' Vitamin D and fresh air after a hard winter and dreary Spring. Summer is in the air...get out and enjoy it (and include trips to MoCo in that plan--see below for our new hours).
See below for fun and enriching events for both dads and moms. Tuesday night is date night...everyone needs a review of CPR, so register for that class NOW (July 7 at 7:00 pm). Register him, you or both of you for Infant Massage for Dads & Moms on July 11th (with infant massage instructor/lactation consultant/MoCo Momma Debbie Page) and register him to come to our Dads Night Out: Beer Tasting event on July 19th. Plan some time for yourself and register for the July 18th Naturally Pretty for Pennies event and the August 3rd Green Cleaning Workshop).
You'll also be receiving a special enewsletter for dads entitled, "Daddyvents". Please forward that message to him USING THE "FORWARD" BUTTON inside that enewsletter...this ensures that you won't be accidentally unsubscribed from our emails. Don't forget to come in and see what else we have gotten in since your last visit...we're fully stocked with cloth mama pads, cloth diapers of all sorts and sizes and softness, lots of comfy and supportive nursing bras and nursing tanks and more. NEW SHOP HOURS at Mothers & Company 
(effective Tuesday, July 7)
We are excited to announce that, effective Tuesday, July 7, our hours are expanding a little bit in hopes that they'll be more convenient for you (especially our new Saturday hours).

Appointments are sometimes possible before or after our normal hours--call to inquire. Sling
fittings and bra fittings usually take at least a 1/2 hour and
sometimes longer, so please come in well before closing for those
(appointments are strongly recommended).

Infant/Child CPR & Safety Class...a super-important skill
 You know how to brush your teeth, right? Did you know that knowing how to do CPR is just as important?
If your baby was choking on something, would you know
what to do? What if your friend's toddler fell and wasn't breathing?
Would you know the most recent guidelines for effective CPR? These are
all scary things to think about but shouldn't everyone know how to save
a life using simple methods like those you'll learn in ourInfant/Child CPR & Safety
class? You'll also learn the basics of adult CPR and if you need to be
certified for work, just let us know and for an additional fee and an
additional test after class, you can also get your certification card.
Taught by Kim Packard, an AHA-certified CPR instrucdtor.

Who
doesn't enjoy a massage? What a wonderful way to bond with your baby
and help your baby sleep better, digest easier and just enjoy his or
her babyhood. We were going to have this class be just for dads, but
the moms were jealous, so we've expanded it to be for both moms and
dads. Think of it as "couples massage"...sorta. Enjoy a date together
WITH baby and learn how you can make diaper changes more fun and
relaxing and so much more! It's true! Price is per family. Have
twins? Bring them both! And after class, meet a special someone
downstairs in Cyprian's Restaurant for lunch. Includes light snacks and drinks, a bottle of massage oil
to take home and handouts that provide guides for baby massage moves.
Led by Debbie Page of The New Born Baby, a nurse, lactation consultant and certified infant massage
instructor.

 Moms Night Out: Naturally Pretty for Pennies:

Come and enjoy a night out with other moms, moms-to-be and just womenfolk to learn together about healthier options for cosmetics and body care products for both you and your baby.
During this workshop you'll be making your own spa-quality skin-care products out of items you can find in your home pantry--hence, naturally pretty for pennies. You'll be surprised at how easy it is to save money and use non-toxic homemade recipes to make your own body-care products. Mothers of older kids, grandmothers and any women you care for are also welcome!
Light refreshments included. All moms welcome...expectant moms, moms of babies, moms of teenagers, grandmothers...

Dads Night Out: Beer Tasting

We've sent another enews for the guys letting you and him know about this special event, but he's more likely to attend if you encourage him. Let's make it a trade...he bonds with baby on Saturday the 18th so you can attend Naturally Pretty for Pennies and you hang out with baby on Sunday so he can meet other dads and learn about beer and enjoy yummy foods that bring out the flavor of the beer and vice versa.
This event will be co-facilitated by by James Donald and Matt Webster. James is a new-ish dad (he's in the picture above with his daughter Meara in a sling...and he's drinking NON-alcoholic beer, rest assured). Matt is the Supreme Chancellor of Beer, from Drink A Better Brew, a local beer education company. Dads will be able to enjoy an evening of support and sharing tricks of the daddying trade while learning about different beers and how to best pair them with food.
