Greetings!

I hope that 2008 is proving to be a fruitful year for you and your planned-giving efforts.  Your NCPGC Board of Directors has planned educational events exploring aspects of the field that we hope will be of further benefit to your work, for both you and your staff.

To let you know of events well in advance, this email newsletter is designed to keep you informed but not overwhelmed with timely information.  I hope that you will always look forward to receiving this newsletter and that it will be of value to you.  We appreciate your part in making NCPGC an asset to the planned-giving community.

Our special thanks to our new administrator, Sharon Tripp and Marketing Chair, Donna Mitchell for their assistance in launching this important communication tool for our chapter.  They welcome your suggestions, as we look to further enhance benefits of membership.

Kanuga, NC Conference

May 6-7, 2008

Are you looking for a planned giving conference that will

  • Give you more information than what you can get from a two-hour lunch meeting?
  • Cover technical topics as well as practical marketing topics?
  • Supply useful information for the new people on your staff as well as the seasoned professional?
  • Offer presentations you usually have to go to a big national conference to hear?
  • Provide a relaxed atmosphere where you can network and enjoy the company of other professionals at a cost that won't break your budget?

Well, you've found it!

The South Carolina and North Carolina Planned Giving Councils are jointly holding such a conference in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina at the Kanuga Conference Center. Kanuga Conference is a complete conference center in Hendersonville, NC. Kanuga is not just a place, it's an experience!

The conference begins with registration on Tuesday, May 6th at 11:30 and ends with lunch on Wednesday the 7th.  Keynote presenter is Pamela J. Davidson, JD (Consultant and Charitable Gift Planner, Davidson Gift Design).  Basic and advanced level breakout sessions will be offered in addition to other presentations, social events and networking opportunities.

The NC Planned Giving Council is providing $60 scholarships to the first 25 members who register. All registrations are done through the website of the SC Planned Giving Council.  For complete information about this conference including agendas and cost, please click here

What They're Saying About Us

These comments are from the evalautions from our February 2008 Gift Planning Ethics meeting:

"This was my first NCPGC meeting.  I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but this was certainly time well spent.  The format was excellent.  I really enjoyed interacting with the other professionals.  Thank you!"

"I really enjoyed the panel discussion - Tom is an excellent presenter!  The subject of ethics is very important - thank you!"

"In a working climate where I face ethical "dilemmas" at times, it was reassuring to know/see that my own conscience is working appropriately - the course was helpful and effective."
