National Volunteer Week

NVW

Established in 1974, National Volunteer Week has grown exponentially in scope each year. This year's theme "Celebrating People in Action," presented an opportunity for individuals, families, nonprofit organizations and government entities alike to celebrate the ordinary people who accomplish extraordinary things through service.

This year to celebrate our volunteers, we posted profiles on our blog to highlight the great work our volunteers are providing to the community. Check out our blog!

Cesar Chavez Day

We engaged the community in a day of volunteer service in honor of Cesar E. Chavez Day on Saturday March 27, 2010.

We led more than 75 volunteers in transforming Chavez's core principles into community service projects that addressed such issues as the environment, poverty and diversity.

Volunteers gathered at multiple project sites to work together and helped transform local shelters, neighborhoods, and local non-profits through murals, gardens, and the arts!

Don't know how to knit? Not to worry, we can teach you! This project is open to all skills levels. So all you have to do is show up, and bring your own practice yarn and a pair of needles. Sign up today!
Season of Service: Family Fun and Fitness
Summer is just around the corner! Our summer series of projects, Family Fun and Fitness, will be focused on getting children to be physically active at local non-profit agencies.

Each month, volunteers will be working with children at a different non-profit agency within the Inland Empire
to promote health and overall well-being through playing a variety of fun, self esteem- and team-building games.
