WE Connect Presence at the Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic Event!
RAM-LA was an 8-day free medical, dental and vision clinic at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
The clinic offered services from physicals and mammograms, to tooth fillings and eye exams. This clinic was the first large-scale, urban clinic put on by RAM who usually works in rural communities and less developed countries. Throughout the eight days, RAM and its army of volunteers, were able to see 6,344 patients and provide 14,651 patient services, for a total value of $2,821,383.
WE Connect VISTA's attended the RAM-LA Event on behalf of Maria Shriver's WE Connect Campaign. They spent the 8-days at RAM-LA distributing WE Connect materials to the crowds, answering questions about the resources, and conducting video interviews of women who received services. In total, they distributed 3,750 of Maria's 10 Tips for Financial Empowerment and 1,750 of the WE Connect La Opinion Bilingual Supplement.
We Connect is available in our community through AmeriCorps VISTA, and is an initiative from the First Lady of California, Maria Shriver.
WE Connect WE Connect helps working families access programs and resources to become more financially stable by connecting people to "money, opportunity, and dreams."

HSBC Hosts Record-Breaking Supply Drive!
HSBC in Pomona hosted another successful School Tools Supply Drive, collecting a record-breaking 34,962 new school supplies to support disadvantaged school children!
On Wednesday, September 9, HSBC employees delivered their donation to IEUW. IEUW employees greeted them at the door to thank them for their amazing donation and continued support for the School Tools program.
The trailer of new school supplies, with an approximated retail value of $9,844, will be distributed to local classrooms through our School Tools Teacher Resource Center.
This is the fourth year HSBC employees have conducted a School Tools Supply Drive. "We're happy to help. I know it will support low-income children in our area," said Juanita Lopez, HSBC Unit Manager. Lopez spearheaded the supply drive and motivated the employees to get involved.
THANK YOU, HSBC, for going WAY above and beyond to help more kids succeed in school!
