Teaching Guide for The Most Dangerous Man in America now available online

MDM Teaching Guide Cover
The Zinn Education Project is proud to present the teaching guide for the award-winning documentary film, The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers.

Not only does The Most Dangerous Man in America Teaching Guide offer a "people's history" approach to learning about the U.S. war in Vietnam, it also engages students in thinking deeply about their own responsibility as truth-tellers and peacemakers. In the spirit of Howard Zinn, this teaching guide explodes historical myths and focuses on the efforts of people -- like Daniel Ellsberg -- who work for peace and justice.

One key lesson of the film is that we all have the potential to be "truth-tellers." While not all students will have the opportunity to affect the course of history as Daniel Ellsberg did, all will be in positions to make important decisions in the name of justice. More about the film.

The 94-page teaching guide is designed for middle school to college social studies and language arts classrooms.

The teaching guide is available for free download on the Zinn Education Project website.
