About Teresa Storch: Boston-based
singer/songwriter Teresa Storch is constantly moving. Her music has
been described as a "bounding folk rock sound... mesmerizing vocal
riffs" by Boston's Metronome Magazine and "Vega/Merchant-esque
vocals... funky guitar work... fabulously catchy folk-genre'd tunes" by
Boston Girl Guide. Her first release 'Muscle Memory' and live shows are
gathering her national acclaim.
About Jason Luckett:Jason
Luckett is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. His sound is an
organic mixture of passion and peace. Influenced by Bob Dylan, Curtis
Mayfield, and The Smiths, Luckett's sixth album, Adjusted Expectations, Vol. 1 (of 3), What is Reasonable?, was completed in 2006. Music Connection
says about Jason: "He uses his guitar as an accompaniment to his
stellar, expressive voice as well as his intriguing love songs and
mesmerizing essays... He's a little Sam Cooke, a little Lenny Kravitz,
and a little Neil Young... His friendly demeanor and barefoot
appearance draws you into the moment and relaxes your guard." About Ashley Wells:
Ashley Wells is a singer/songwriter from Columbia, S.C. A classically
trained musician, her music slides effortlessly between acoustic guitar
and jazz piano. Her voice has been called "angelic," "lilting," "gorgeous
and rich," and she has been compared to Norah Jones, Natalie Merchant,
Joni Mitchell, and Jewel. In 2007, Ashley attended the prestigious New
Song Academy, hosted by NPR's Mountain Stage program, where she was
recognized as a stand-out songwriter by industry professionals.

The situation is extremely urgent. Below is an article from the AFP (Agence France-Presse) with statistics on number of people homeless and the death estimates so far.
Grim fight for survival after Myanmar cyclone
YANGON (AFP) - More than one million homeless in Myanmar were battling to stave off disease and hunger Thursday, but the military government maintained tight limits on foreign assistance six days after a massive cyclone.
With death toll estimates near 100,000 and the clock ticking for those who survived, Myanmar's junta -- long suspicious of the outside world -- came under new pressure to fully open up to help from abroad.
Aid has only [been] trickling in despite warnings that specialists were needed to deliver food and water into disaster zones strewn with rotting bodies, and it was unclear if the regime had yet given visas to foreign aid staff...

Susan is one of the leading voices in the folk music genre and has a string of accolades from the likes of the Washington Post, the Village Voice, and NPR. She was recently named Contemporary Artist of the Year for 2008 by the Folk Alliance.

She is a GREAT entertainer and I would be willing to bet you will LOVE the show if you come!

Presiding Bishop's Pentecost Letter
In this season: Pentecost 2008 A Letter to The Episcopal Church
My brothers and sisters in Christ, As
we come to the end of Eastertide and the feast of Pentecost, we shift
to an awareness of God present with us in Holy Spirit. The early church
marked that gift as inspiration, fire, and language -- the breath of
ever-new life and the burning desire for ongoing relationship with God.
That gift of Holy Spirit keeps us lively and moving, bears us into new
territory and challenges unsought. In this as in every age,
we face issues of identity, vocation, and mission as members of the
Body of Christ. Entering the long season of Pentecost brings our focus
to how we, too, will follow Jesus inspired by Holy Spirit. I would like
to offer a few reminders about identity, vocation, and mission that I
shared recently with the people of the Diocese of San Joaquin... more >
