Greetings!
The Secret of "The Secret" |
 |
O.K., are you ready for this one? The Secret, a 2006
film that uses a documentary style to introduce the
Law of Attraction, actually is not far off the mark. Just
don’t get caught up in all the hype. The secret (small
S) of The Secret (big S) is that it’s not really a secret.
The basic concept is that if you focus only on what you
want, not on what you don’t want, you will attain it. This
focus is not just brain work. They are not saying that
good thoughts alone will bring you success. This
focus includes a lot of action and execution of
activities that are in line with creating your desired
outcomes.
The Law of Attraction
You create our own reality. You attract those things
in your life that you focus on.
The Law of Attraction is at work all the time. If you’ve
ever purchased a new car and then over the next
several weeks noticed many more cars like the one
you recently purchased, you are not alone. Those cars
were always there. Your brain has simply tuned in and
focused your attention on the similar vehicles. You
didn’t ask your brain to do this, it just did. Like
an “inner detective”, your brain is always looking for
evidence to back up your dominant thoughts, good or
bad. Earlier I wrote that you need to focus on what you
want and not on what you don’t want. That’s because

Positive and Present Tense |
|
Changing the way you think changes you from the
inside out. Think about how you talk to yourself every
day. I’m talking about your internal voice. That’s the
voice that just said to you, “what’s he talking about”.
It’s important that we notice and become conscious of
our internal conversations. Everyday we tell ourselves
how competent and confident we feel about every
aspect our lives. At times our internal conversation is
reassuring and positive; however, many times we are
overly critical and ruthless. What we say about
ourselves to ourselves, shapes who we are both
positively and negatively. What do your internal
conversations sound like?
You have the power to control your internal
conversation, so why not turn it to your advantage.
Instead of negative tentative statements, create your
own powerful positive statements. If you want to do
something, tell your brain that you already do it! If you
want to stop eating junk food and make better food
choices, your internal conversation might say “ I
choose to eat natural and healthy foods”. This
suggestion will have you sub-consciously seeking
foods that are better for you.
Take control. Don’t play that old tired recording in your
head. Make new empowering positive statements
today.
