Faro

Dear Friends:

This fall my 5th grade class began working with Gemini Ink doing composition and mural work in my own classroom once a week. The writer has shown great enthusiasm for the project, and really does a great job at getting students excited and involved in the creative writing process. I feel it is a blessing for my students to have a passionate, skilled author work with them on writing. Writing is so much more than what is limited by state mandated testing, and a curriculum which has the unfortunate effect of squeezing creative writing and art out of our standardized test-driven school days. The students look forward to the writer's visits and have already shown improvements in their written work. We are all excited about the prospect of having work published and shared with others, which will be a new experience for all of us. I haven't told her yet, but I really do appreciate the work our visiting writer has done with us, and we feel extremely lucky to be a part of this program.

Sincerely,
Brian Faro
