Greetings!

It is time again to celebrate the Feast Day of Mary the Magdalene.  We have a wonderful event planned next month which not only honors Mary Magdalene but also continues our exploration of the Charter for Compassion by examining the foundational concept of compassion for self as the cornerstone of compassion for others.

Join us Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Live Oaks Friends Meeting House.  Tickets are $35 and may be purchased online in advance by clicking here.  Libations and refreshments will be served.  As always, you may also mail a check made payable to "Brigid's Place" to 1117 Texas Avenue, Houston, Texas 77002.

"Then Mary arose, embraced them all, and began to speak to her brothers: 'Do not remain in sorrow and doubt, for his Grace will guide you and comfort you. Instead, let us praise his greatness, for he has prepared us for this. He is calling upon us to become fully human'." (Gospel of Mary, LeLoup translation)
Blessings to all.
Brigid's Place is a 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Non-Profit Organization that supports the spiritual development of women. We offer classes, lectures, discussion groups, weekend workshops and retreats where people can ask questions relating to their spiritual journeys, address their doubts, and become empowered to meet the challenges of life.  We are named after St. Brigid, a fifth century Irish Celtic Saint who founded a monastery of nuns and monks based on the social concept of equality of men and women.  They were known for their wisdom, compassion, hospitality, and healing.
