This is all sweet & sour news...where there is good news there is a flip side!
 
Just a reminder for our First-Time Buyers and Repeat Buyers: this is the last week to get into contract in order to take advantage of the Federal Home Buyer Tax Credits. Restrictions apply, so check with your Tax Advisor to see if you qualify (ask for Gary Chan if you need a recommendation).
 
But don't worry; if you miss the Federal Tax Credit, there is a new First-Time Buyer & New Construction State Credit for escrows closing between May 1, 2010 and January 1, 2011. However, I don't recommend putting all of your eggs in that basket; some economists predict that the money will run out before the end of May.
 
If you're feeling a little cheated out of money because your home-buying timing isn't right, click to learn about Coldwell Banker's Innovative 3% Buyer Bonus (I've just updated my dusty blog, where you can read all about it)!
 
All in all, I think the tax credits and bonuses are the icing on the cake, but it shouldn't be the only reason to buy a home! Here are some great reference articles outlining all sorts of benefits of owning a home.
