For 1,000 years, the most beautiful and inspiring of all Tantric teachings, those of the Kashmirian Krama, have remained untranslated and hidden to the West. The Krama Tantrics, which included the only women gurus of any Tantric lineage, worshipped the Goddess as the very continuity of life and as the phases (krama) of one's own awareness. These masters left behind their ecstatic and ornate poetry, short hymns to the Goddess that joyously praise what it really means to live in the state of enlightenment.
Beginning this year, the poetry of the Krama Masters, edited and translated from Sanskrit manuscripts by Christopher Tompkins, will be revealed in a series of illustrated books entitled "Tantric Hymns of Enlightenment." By attending this workshop, you will be helping Christopher to publish the first volume, which celebrates the two surviving hymns of an incredible poet, the 11th century Krama sage simply called 'Nāga.'
Nāga's hymn, Delighting in Awareness, is a song that praises the discovery of true spiritual freedom, the birthright of all beings. It captures the unimaginable delight of a human being who has become consciously immersed in the blissful dynamism of the one, playful Goddess who constitutes the essence of the Universe.
[My] mind, which was a distressed honey-bee whose energy was diminished by the continual winter storms of duality, having reached the fragrant nectar, the abode of Shiva, now remains perpetually intoxicated by the revivifying nectar found within the flower that [grows] on the vine of pure awareness.
-- "Delighting in Awareness" by Śrī Maheśvara Nāga
