Journeys from PADS to HOPE will hold its annual Homeless Memorial Service to honor the area homeless who have died during the past year. The event will take place on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 am at Journeys from PADS to HOPE, 1140 E. Northwest Highway. The service and candle lighting is held as a reminder that homelessness is still a serious and growing problem in the northwest suburbs and throughout the country. Speakers will include staff and community members and volunteers. Homeless men and women and their families will participate in the readings. Clearbrook has teamed up with Acme Refining to recycle the old holiday lights. Lights can be dropped off any time between November 21st and January 15th in collection bins located at three Clearbrook facilites, including: Getz Building, 746 S.
