At Refresh School of Therapeutic Massage (RSTM), our goal is to provide quality instruction at a reasonable cost. RSTM provides an environment for students to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to become great massage therapists in today's competitive job market. We are currently taking applications for part-time and full-time classes. We also offer referral rewards to anyone who refers a student that goes on to complete our program. Get Your Work Out On! New Fitness sessions are right around the corner at the Salt Creek Park District! Classes are offered Monday-Thursday nights & Saturday mornings. An eight week session ranges from $28-$36. All classes are held at Twin Lakes Recreation Area, 1200 E. Twin Lakes Drive, in Palatine. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and can receive $5 off if you register for 3 or more classes during the same session!

The Palatine/Inverness Arts Council (PIAC) will present their 6th Annual juried art fair, "An Art Affair Around the Square" on September 11th and 12th from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in Towne Square in Downtown Palatine at the corners of Smith Street and Palatine Road. Artists from all specialties, including water color, acrylic, oil, pottery, fine jewelry, stained glass and pastels will be represented. Artists will be judged by a panel of community residents and be awarded prizes for Best in Show. The awards presentation will take place on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the gazebo and will be officiated by Palatine Mayor Jim Schwantz.

We're in! Just like any move, moving into PHD's new home is a process and things don't always go smoothly. But isn't our new space wonderful? And with the extra added benefit of more walking exercise! We are located at 1610 Colonial Parkway, Inverness, IL 60067. The Baby Closet will be up and serving clients here, too. This reuniting of all of PHD's client services in the same building is one of the greatest benefits of the move. With our new space, it will take time to get used to things and people being in different places, some new procedures, and new expectations of our clients.

Recipe for Success is a culinary extravaganza, featuring food and drinks from dozens of area restaurants. Palatine attorney Kerry Lavelle of Lavelle Law will have an article published in the August edition of Construction Equipment Distribution magazine (www.cedmag.com). The article focuses on the need for employers in the construction industry and construction related trades to establish policies regarding the use of social media and e-mail by employees. Sunday, September 12th, Morkes Chocolates, a Palatine business since 1967, along with Hotel Indigo, Emmett's, St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly and Preventative Healthcare will be partners in the annual Palatine Chocolate Bicycle Tour. This social outing is good for all ages and is a fun way to travel through the beautiful neighborhoods of Palatine while stopping at great locations for unique tastes of chocolates. The 15 mile, mostly flat route also takes you on some of the fun bicycle paths throughout Palatine too. The day starts with a famous chocolate fudge dipped cake donut and drink from Morkes', then leads to chocolate dipped items at Hotel Indigo, chocolate raspberry tiramisu and Oatmeal Ale at Emmett's and a chocolate chip cookie at St. Joe's.
