 Community Movie Night
The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce will launch their 2010 community art initiative, "Chairs!" to Palatine on Sunday, August 15th with the presentation of the animated movie "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" on the side of the Harris Bank building located at 50 North Brockway in downtown Palatine starting at dusk.
The movie will be presented free to the public and seating is available in on Station Street, just east of the building. Residents are encouraged to bring their families and their own chairs. There will be a variety of activities for the whole family prior to the movie, including face painting and family art projects.

Networking @ Nite Expo
Calling all home-based businesses...join the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce and co-host a Networking @ Nite with us on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 5-7 p.m. at Falcon Park. The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce wants to offer the opportunity for our home-based businesses to host a Networking @ Nite. Space is limited. It is on a first come, first serve basis and the cost is $25. Each business will get an Expo table to showcase their business, as well as an opportunity to give a brief introduction of their business to the attendees.  The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce is having a 2010 Coupon Craze that will give our members an opportunity to promote their business to consumers in Palatine. All you need to do is R.S.V.P. to the Chamber and drop off 500 copies of any coupon to the chamber office by Friday, June 18th and we will include your coupon in a goody bag that will be passed out to residents along the parade route at the Fourth of July parade. This is a great way to promote your business to the community! We are also looking for members who would like to walk with us and help pass out the bags to residents waiting for the parade to start.  Get Connected with Palatine Residents at Street Fest
It is that time of year again for the Village of Palatine to host their "Street Fest" on August 27-29 in downtown Palatine. The Chamber is looking for members interested in marketing their businesses at our booth at this year's Village of Palatine Street Fest on Saturday, August 28-Sunday, August 29. We have split up the days into two-hour shifts. We highly recommend participating because Street Fest provides an excellent opportunity to meet and network with hundreds of Palatine residents. During your volunteer shift, you will be permitted to display your business or company information at the Chamber's booth. Anyone interested in signing up for a shift should call the chamber office at (847) 359-7200.

Join the Salt Creek Park District on Saturday, June 12th from 8-11:30 a.m. for our 17th annual Fishing Derby at Twin Lakes! The derby is open to all ages and everyone will have a chance to win prizes from our sponsors! Awards will also be given for the most fish caught and the heaviest weighed fish. A beautiful and unique collection of Chicago paint memorabilia has made it back to Chicago after being in storage for 40 years in Minneapolis, thanks to a determined Valspar employee in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Painting in Partnership of Palatine, Illinois. After conversations with the Chicago History Museum and the Minnesota Museum, the Valspar employee ascertained that their interest in the collection was limited to only a few items. So, she searched again and found Painting in Partnership, a house painting contractor located in the Barrington area, with a national reputation as a collector and custodian of the painting industry's past.
