We wanted to thank everyone for the wonderful outpouring of love, prayers, and reiki directed toward our dog, Jack, who has lung cancer. We were so very touched and appreciative. We did not think he would make it past Wednesday but here he is today, running around, howling and pestering us to pet him! He is almost his old self. While we know he does not have long, we will enjoy him as long as he is comfortable. Thank you to everyone who helped him get his pep back!!!

Totem Animals
Animal totems offer spiritual guidance. To best understand the lessons conveyed by animals that show up in our lives, we must learn more of their instinctual behaviors, and natural habitats. Is the animal nocturnal? Does it live in the desert or the tropics? Is the animal solitary or lives in a pack? What type of diet do they eat? Answers to these questions and similar questions will give you clues as to what message is being offered.
The Great Horned Owl
Nina, from Omaha, asked if we could put some info about the Great Horned Owl in this week's newsletter. Thanks for the suggestion Nina!
The Great Horned Owl Totem The Great Horned owl is known to have clairaudience ~ the power
or faculty of hearing something not present to the ear but regarded as
having objective reality. They also symbolize: insight into the Shadow
Self ~ timing ~ protection of the unseen ~ sister to the red tailed
hawk ~ able to hear what is not spoken ~ harbinger of new cycles. Owls
have excellent vision in the dark and this uncanny vision has earned the owl the reputation of
being able to pierce beyond the veil that separates the physical world
from the spirit world. Since they filter out light from the darkness,
they remind us that both exist at the same time. The owl totem gives us greater insight into life lessons and experiences.
It is believed that the Great Horned Owl is a messenger heralding new
cycles and change. They alert us that change and growth opportunities
are on the way, encouraging us to step out into the light of a new day.
The owls tufted feathers resembling ears make them good listeners.
Music is deeply stirring to the horned owl soul and can often elicit
healing experiences.
The great
horned owl is the only bird that can out fly the golden eagle. A fully grown great horned is an awe inspiring
creature. Its talons are furry, and closely resemble the paws of a baby mountain lion with claws extended. It is a
meat eater, which means it can be a fierce warrior if challenged, or if something dear to it is threatened. It is often
referred to as Night Eagle.
Owl is at home in the night. It has great awareness of all that is around it at all times. It has predator vision, which
means it sees clearly what it looks at.
It has great intuition: it is the totem of psychics and clairvoyants. It has the
courage to follow its instincts.
Owl's medicine includes seeing behind masks, silent and swift movement, keen sight, messenger of secrets
and omens, shape-shifting, link between the dark, unseen world and the world of light, comfort with shadow self,

Great Horned Owl Facts:
The great horned owl is the most common owl of the Americas, easily
recognizable because of the feather tufts on its head. These
"plumicorns" resemble horns or, to some, catlike ears.
Great horned owls are adaptable birds and live from the Arctic to South
America. They are at home in suburbia as well as in woods and
farmlands. Northern populations migrate in winter, but most live
permanently in more temperate climes.
The birds nest in tree holes, stumps, caves, or in the abandoned nests
of other large birds. Monogamous pairs have one to five eggs (two is
typical), both the male and female incubate, and the male also hunts
for food. Owls are powerful birds and fiercely protective parents. They
have even been known to attack humans who wander too close to their
young.
Like other owls, these birds have an incredible digestive system. They
sometimes swallow their prey whole and later regurgitate pellets
composed of bone, fur, and the other unwanted parts of their meal. Owls
are efficient nighttime hunters that strike from above, and use their
powerful talons to kill and carry animals several times heavier than
themselves. Owls prey on a huge variety of creatures, including
raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, domestic birds, falcons, and other owls.
They regularly eat skunks, and may be the only animal with such an
appetite. They sometimes hunt for smaller game by standing or walking
along the ground. Owls have even been known to prey upon unlucky cats
and dogs.

Rock of The Week
Boji®
Stones are used for Metaphysical Healing.
Here is an easy way to use and
feel the healing energies of Boji stones to balance your energy field:
Hold a Boji stone in the fingers of each hand. Now move the stones
towards and then away from each other; you should feel a very subtle pulling
and pushing sensation. If you do not feel this, rotate the boji's
between your fingers and go through this procedure again. You may
feel that the male stone feels better in your right hand rather than your
left, or vice a versa. Keep at it until you can feel this pulling/pushing
sensation. This allows you to become familiar with the energies of
your Boji stones. When you feel the strongest sensation, take notice of
which stone is in which hand as well as position. Once you feel you
are ready. lay down and place the Boji from your left hand above your head
and the other one below your feet. Close your eyes and visualize the golden
healing light of the Boji stones as they work to release energy blocks
and to balance/align your energy field.

The Boji®
Stone is the philosopher stone of the ancient Alchemy. The rock we
chose to become a Boji® was rusting and rotting away.

HOW
TO USE BOJI® STONES
For balancing the body, it is
best to use a pair of Boji® Stones, one crystallized male and one smooth
female. Use the male on the left side of the body and the female
on the right side. When using a pair of Boji's®, start by holding them
as you would two magnets. While holding them in your fingers, move
them back and fourth from each other. If you do not feel a slight pushing
and pulling sensation, turn one Boji® over and repeat until you feel
this slight sensation. The way they are facing each other when you
get the strongest feeling is the side of the Boji® that you lay on
the body. Boji's® are not magnetic, but they have a balanced
polarity and do work best when the polarity is set correct. Boji's®
They can be used to balance meridian points of the body in place of acupuncture
needles or accupressure.
By applying a Boji® to a hurt
area on the body it takes away pain and you will heal faster. You

BOJI STONES® ARE CALLED MALE AND FEMALE
Each Boji® has an electromagnetic energy with
a negative and a positive side. For purposes of physical energy balancing
or healing, normally two stones are paired, one of which is crystallized
or "male", the other is which is smooth or "female". The male stone
is placed on the weak side of the body (either the side that is damaged,
or the left side for right-handed people or vice versa). However,
two smooth or two rough stones can also be paired. In this instance,
the stone that is heavier should be placed on the weak side.

Easy Creativity Spell
We all know how hard it can be when we have a creativity block. It
feels as if nothing will come to you. The following spell uses personal
power in order to spark inspiration.
You will need a blue candle, a holder, and incense.
Hit the
altar three times with your candle. This awakens the power that lies within.
Invoke Spirit.
Light the incense.
Light the candle and chant over
its flames, "From theses flames shall flow inspiration!"
Repeat this 3
times and SNUFF out the candle.
Pour the wax onto the surface of water
in a pot, or, ideally, your cauldron. You will receive messages through

Dorian
Robyn T. sent us this picture of her sweet gal, Dorian. Dorian was attacked by a larger dog and is in need of healing energy. If you can send good energy to Dorian, it would be greatly appreciated.
Robyn writes:
Here is a picture of Dorian. She is a whippet and rat terrier
cross, almost 6, and loves to run and dig. Hmm, where do those two
traits come from?
I was told that there's no evidence of spinal cord damage, and she
has pain response everywhere that the doctors tested, so I'm guessing
it's either a bruise to the cord or some nerve damage. She has a good
prognosis of recovery, but time is the question mark. I hope to at
least see her tomorrow (she is at UC Davis, which is about 160 miles
from home). I am planning on taking a few days by the ocean, and
hopefully her main neurologist will allow that.

Living With The Dead
You realize your house is haunted. What do
you do now?
I can't tell you how many times I have received
frantic calls or emails along the lines of
"my house is haunted, the ghost scares me
and my family, how can I get rid of it?"
The fact is, nine times out of ten, you can't.
Ghosts are people too. Ok, they are dead
people, but still people. They
are not demons. They are not fairies.
They are people without bodies. When we
die, only our physical bodies dissipate.
Something of us remains. The energy that
is our soul doesn't disappear just because our
physical body stops functioning.
In most cases, that energy transforms or
goes on to the next step, whatever that may be.
But sometimes we aren't able to go on.
Maybe we don't accept the death of our physical
self. Ghosts are the energy that remains.
They are people with dysfunctional
personalities. They are still here
because they have some kind of psychological
hang-up that prevents them from moving on.
Some of them were confused when they died.
Some died violently and can't accept that.
Some are obsessed with something on this level
of existence. It could be anything, a
person or a place. Some are afraid of
divine retribution; they feel that they died in
sin.
Most ghosts know they are dead. I
have encountered only a handful that didn't, and
they were either infants or insane.
Many people freak out when they finally
realize their home is haunted. If they are
religious they inevitably call in the clergy.
The priest or pastor comes over, talks to the
family, and then proceeds to bless the house.
This isn't a bad thing, unless the ghost happens
to have a problem with either God or organized
religion. Think about it, if the ghost is
hanging around because he or she is afraid they
are going to Hell, or mad at God for whatever
reason, blessing the house is just asking for
trouble. In the case of a megalomaniacal
ghost, you are calling his bluff.
"So, they think a priest can get rid of me!
I'll show them!!!"
Even if the ghost is cool with religion,
at the very most all you will accomplish by
having your house blessed is calming things down
for a bit. Prayer is not going to make the
ghost leave. However, prayer can make you
feel better about the situation, even empower
you. Ghosts are here for
personal reasons. I think it's very
arrogant of us to think we can make them leave.
So what do you do? Well, first you
need to establish the type of haunting.
Truly evil hauntings are extremely rare, but
they do happen. If your ghost is violent
or members of the household are exhibiting signs
of possession, your best bet is to leave the
house. Move. However, I cant stress
how rare that is.
Luckily it's more likely that the ghost is
lonely or has an attitude problem. You can
learn to deal with those kinds of ghosts.
Talk to the ghost, if it isn't evil.
Tell it in a firm voice to leave you alone, to
leave your family alone. I recommend
allowing it to inhabit an area of your home,
ideally one that is usually vacant, like an
attic or unused bedroom. Place something
in that area for the ghost, such as a candle or
a book, anything that signifies the ghost for
you, or something that reflects his or her
personality. If the ghost is attached to a
child, put a toy or a picture of children
playing in that area, NOT YOUR CHILD. We
don't want the ghost to be fixated on any
particular person.
Do whatever you can to comfort yourself
and your family. Burn sage, this has been
used for thousands of years to clear negativity.
Bathe with salt in your water. Some people
place salt and sage around their homes.
These things are to strengthen the living so
that you can deal with the ghost.
There is a prayer that has been used all
over the world in different variations. It
always comforts and protects. It's called
the Universal Light Prayer. The words are:
"I am surrounded
by pure white light.
Nothing but good can come to
me.
Nothing but good can go from
me.
I give
thanks.
I give
thanks.
I give thanks."
While you say the words, visualize yourself and
your loved ones surrounded by brilliant white
light. The light is a barrier, and nothing can come through it to
harm you.
If children are involved in the haunting, then
you can teach them the prayer.
Write it on a piece of paper and put it
somewhere in their room where they can see it.
It really does work.
The best advice I can give you is to learn to
live with the ghost.
They can be helpful.
Many times ghosts have alerted people to
fires or other emergencies.
At the very least remember that they are
people, and they deserve our respect.
