1099 Reporting Status
The U.S. Senate has repealed the new cumbersome 1099 reporting requirements to include all companies (even corporations). A similar bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives. All parties appear to agree that this requirement needs to be repealed. The main issue is that it was proposed as a revenue generator, so the U.S. House will want to replace the lost revenue with some other revenue generating provision.
We will keep you informed on the progress of this bill.
