AQUATIC THERAPY - This month we are hosting a special event in cooperation with the Briggs YMCA Sandie Anderson, LMT, will demonstrate Watsu, a form of aquatic therapy which is used to bring relaxation to children with spasticity, anxiety and concentration issues... MARCH 20th @ noon!

In April we will host a speaker, Liliane Bartha, MD, who will cover the many approaches to health issues for children with Autism and other disorders or disabilities. She is a local family physician with DAN training (Defeat Autism Now). Email us with questions in advance for inclusion in her presentaion and don't forget to RSVP!

Dr. Linda Wang-Stewart, Visiting Assistant Professor of Public Relations at Pacific Lutheran University has offered the assistance of some of her students in our PR campaign and fundraising efforts this Spring. We are already hard at work determining media coverage, event sponsorships and prizes. Working with us gives her students real life experience with all the bells and whistles and allows us to involve the community and create awareness! Students receive a vast supply of up-to-date information on the issues in legislature, special education, medical research, nutrisional issues and therapies.

The WHF team wants to thank them whole- heartedly for their efforts and looks forward to great PR and an ongoing relationship with the university! Internships are available!

Mark your calendars! Our annual fundraiser is planned for the June 11th at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course, complete with 8:00 AM scramble for 4-person teams w/handicap. Bring your favorites clubs and yourself! Everything else will be provided: great morning munchies, 2 drink tickets, a fantastic BBQ lunch - steak or half chicken with sides and a fantastic time knowing you are helping a very needed cause.

Members of our Board will personally be present at the luncheon to thank you and share their reasons for being part of the foundation. We are hoping to completely pack the golf course this year so please help us spread the word to any and all golf fanatics! Look forward to awesome prizes, a little competition and a great game! Did you know... We are now seeing over 850 visitors per month to our web site from 6 continents - lots from WA and CA but also the Seychelles, North Korea and Armenia! We have several online options for electronic donations and a fully functional e-newsletter which allows diagnosis- specific blasts about local events and info.
