Local Support Needed to Haitian Community:  Teens & Families

Dear Neighbors,

As HPMS continues to be made aware of local needs, we are asking for your support.  Below is a note to me from Joel Connor, Director of Hyde Park High School.  Please let Mr. Connor or myself know if you can help.

As well, the seniors living at the Riley House (39 Maple Street, HP, MA  02136 - Most Precious Blood Senior Housing) are part of the Haitian community and have lost loved one.  If you would like reach out to them, please call Madeline Soto, Manager at 617-364-4388.

Thank you.

"We do have a number of students that have been directly affected.  One possible way to help is if any local businesses could donate food or refreshments to the students.  We have set up grief counseling for students and have a room dedicated to students who are having trouble coping.  We have water and tissue but snacks would be great if available.

We would also like to set up an after school session where students and families could gather and be with each other in this great time of need.  Refreshments would be greatly appreciated."

Thanks
