Door Kewaunee Legislative Days
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Door Kewaunee Legislative Days in Madison is confirmed for Tuesday and Wednesday, April 12-13. The purpose of Legislative Days is to educate state officials about the area and to lobby for state action to help address local issues and concerns. This is the first year that Door and Kewaunee Counties are working collaboratively on this event; a number of Kewaunee County residents participated in 2009.
This year's event will build directly on the success of past Legislative Day events, held every other year since 2003, which brought the specific concerns of the community directly to elected representatives and influential government appointees. The Door Kewaunee Legislative Days 2011 event website -
www.dklegislativedays.com - has information on registration, legislative agenda nominations, sponsorship opportunities, links to legislative leaders and more.
A volunteer committee is working to develop the 2011 legislative and state agency agenda topics and issues that will be presented in Madison. To provide input for the 2011 agenda, contact the Legislative Days Agenda Committee Chair, Rob Burke, at 920-743-2260 or robert.burke@ces.uwex.edu. For additional event information, please contact Bill Chaudoir at (920) 743-3113 x203 or bill@doorcountybusiness.com.
